Duratab's unique M3 Series tablet computer is housed in a small 12" x 9.5" x 1.75" all-metal package with a high visibility 12 inch touchscreen display and features a powerful 1.6Ghz Pentium M processor, providing a full-function Windows XP-based computer system in a single, fully portable package. Weighing less than 6 lbs and featuring a convenient fold-away carry handle, the M3 Series can instantly go from in-vehicle to fully portable field use. Unlike conventional clamshell" style laptop computers, the M3 Series is a single hand-held tablet style unit that is convenient to use in both in-vehicle and in-field operational situations without having to balance an awkward package. There are no remote or trunk-mount electronics, greatly simplifying installation and giving the user the ability to quickly and easily transport the M3 computer as needed.
Most importantly, the M3 utilizes a proprietary design to cool the product without the need for a fan, eliminating a key source of noise and greatly improving reliability while extending battery life between charges to over 7 hours. This combination of top end computing speed and all-in-one package design provides a level of performance and rugged reliability unmatched by any other product of its type on the market today.
The company has introduced a large array of features and available options in response to user demand. These include streaming video capability, wireless 802.11g, Bluetooth, or Zigbee interface, integral camera option, and expanded USB and video ports to interface with popular peripherals. The flexible design platform allows customization to meet any specialized requirement now and in the future or to easily upgrade performance features without having to replace an installed M3 system. The M3 Series may be installed using Duratab's M3/Dock system, measuring 1" thin, which permits easy connection and routing of all USB, Ethernet, and serial I/O connections while providing easy mounting/dismounting of the computer from the installation. The M3 and M3/Dock fit a wide variety of available vehicle mounting systems that utilize the 75mm/100mm VESA mounting pattern, or may be easily backplate adapted to fit an existing installation without the need to replace previously installed mounting hardware.
