What kind of power power can I draw from the USB 2.0 ports?
DuraTab’s M33 fully complies to the USB2.0 requirements The USB 2.0 specification provides a 5 V (volts) supply on a single wire from which connected USB devices may draw power. The specification provides for no more than 5.25 V and no less than 4.75 V (5 V±5%) between the positive and negative bus power lines. Initially, a device is only allowed to draw 100 mA. It may request more current from the upstream device in units of 100 mA up to a maximum of 500 mA.
If a bus-powered hub is used, the devices downstream may only use a total of four units — 400 mA — of current. This limits compliant bus-powered hubs to 4 ports.
Some USB devices draw more power than is permitted by the specification for a single port. This is a common requirement of external hard and optical disc drives and other devices with motors or lamps. Such devices can be used with an external power supply of adequate rating; some external hubs may, in practice, supply sufficient power. For portable devices where external power is not available, but not more than 1 A is required at 5 V, devices may have connectors to allow the use of two USB cables, doubling available power but reducing the number of USB ports available to other devices.
All USB ports on both the M3 and the dock can supply 500 mA of power to connected devices. Note, however some devices may draw more than 500 mA, especially devices with motors (CDROM drives, Hard Disks, Floppy Drives, Printers, etc.).
Can I change the functioning of the power button?
The function of the power button on the M3 can be modified in the Windows XP Power Management settings screen. In the “ADVANCED” tab the bottom half contains a setting for “When I press the power button on my computer:”. You may want to that to “Do Nothing” if it is often inadvertently pressed. The power button emulates a reset button if you hold the button for 5 seconds, then Windows is over-riden and power to the processor is shut off. If the computer is in standby or hibernate mode windows will resume when the button is pressed. The power button will turn the computer on, if it is off.
Can I remove the Sigmatel Audio Icon from the Windows Task Bar Notification Area?

How can I tell if the Dock Ethernet port is working properly and how can I tell if a device connected to the dock Ethernet port is working?
How the Dock Ethernet Ports show in the windows notification area: windows “cable unplugged” notification is a misnomer, if you plug and Ethernet cable into a computers Ethernet port there will be no notification of any kind, unless there is a fully functioning Ethernet device on the other end of the cable. What windows is telling you is that it is able to communicate with a fully functioning Ethernet device on the other end of the cable. Therefore, using a ping command from the command line will give you the same feedback if you need to test an Ethernet device attached to the Dock Ethernet ports. From the command line type “ping ipaddress”. For example “ping 192.168.0.1”
